Holmfirth Art week

Hello

This is my first ever newsletter.

Firstly I would like to thank you for signing up and showing interest in my artwork. It is very much appreciated.

Last month was a very busy one for me. I wanted to create lots of new  artwork as I was taking part  in Holmfirth art week, not only did I take part in the exhibition in the civic Hall also took part in a fringe event at  Choppards mission, a beautiful old building set in the scenic area of  Holmfirth. I was joined there by lots of other very talented artists.

I have to say we had a great week, with lots of interested visitors. Every day I was there I loved the early morning walk down the leafy lane admiring the stunning views, its such a tranquil place.

An added bonus was the tasty homemade soup, coffee and cakes made by Jill, that were on sale every day. Her work was completely voluntary and the proceeds go to keeping the old mission open.

Holmfirth Art week is a great event for art lovers that raises money for the McMillan nurses and Kirkwood Hospice , two very worthwhile charities.

As I mentioned I created some new pieces .As I didn’t quite leave my self enough time, as usual leaving everything till the last minute. I worked on a series of smaller pieces. I was inspired by some beautiful  woodland photos I sourced. I particularly lovethe way the light shines through the trees and casts long  shadows. I hope I  have captured this.

The others were inspired by birds in flight.

I am hoping to get these  added to my website shortly.

I hope you like my new work and would love to hear from

Kind Regards

Jan Folan
